There is an unseen aspect to Network Marketing Success that you must tap into if you wish to truly reach the next level. In fact, it is the one thing that will help you get to the next level – to enable you to qualify for that next rank in your compensation plan.

Its easier to explain exactly how it has played out in my business over & over again than to try to describe it outright first.

Example #1 When I enrolled in ViSalus last year, I declared that I would be a Director in my first week working the business.  I went to work and immediately enrolled the 2 people who had been waiting to hear back if ViSalus was all it appeared to be.  With 2 enrolled needed just 1 more new business partner to hit Director.  I had no real idea of who my hot prospects were and just days to qualify.  I sent an email to my list and expected a massive response, but did not get it… and on the last day of the week, in the last hours to qualify, someone I had not spoken to in 3 years connected with me on Facebook. As you may have guessed – this gentleman trusted me when I told him this was IT, and he was my 3rd enrollment.

I had declared I’d be Director that week – having no idea how I would accomplish it – and the universe conspired to make it so.

Example #2 Flash forward 4 months and ViSalus threw out a $1000 bonus for those who qualified for Regional Director in the month of October.
Well, throw me a bonus like that and I simply MUST qualify.
Now, I worked all month to get that qualification done… but as the last days of the month came I felt tapped out – I had not another good prospect to call, not another good email blast to send.

It was 11:00pm on October 31st, on Halloween, and I had not yet qualified.

A lead came through – and the area code was from California, so I figured what the heck – I’d call since it was only 9pm his time.  The gentleman on the other line seemed like a lookey-loo, like a tire kicker, but I was patient and asked him a few key questions.   Turned out he had over 100lbs to lose… and I had him signed up for an ESS less than 10 minutes later!

And I was BMW qualified – with minutes to spare.

Example #3 Flash forward to February 2009 -
ViSalus throws out another bonus offer of $1000 on stage for BMW qualifiers – and I decide to run my husband’s position to Regional and BMW qualified.
I texted my intention to my mentor Pete Bunting ~ and went to work.
Now, that second position was no where NEAR qualified, and I had like no one at all even close to Director to help. I was starting virtually from scratch.  But I set the goal, I declared my intention – and I knew it would be DONE.

I honestly don’t even remember the last events that got that position qualified. I worked harder than I ever had in my life. I pushed past my own boundaries and helped people accomplish their goals in order to get it DONE. We had 5 people hit Rising Star Director that month and they were all in Denver to celebrate. It was wonderful!

And yes, you’d better believe that I qualified that second position -

Does it stop there? No way!

I’ve re-qualified for Regional Director status with a random online customer coming through with a $200 order at 11pm on the last day of the month. I’ve qualified for the “pool bonus” more times than most others in the company – simply because I KNOW I WILL and work as if its already done.

Example #4 In June of 2010 one of my primary support upline, Bonzi, was running for Presidential Director.  It was 10pm and he needed like $2000 in volume by midnight to get it done and he was totally tapped out.  The leaders of the team made calls to downline asking them to dig deep and find just one customer to help Bonzi qualify – and $1200 in volume came through in just 1 hour.  And then, when it seemed like there was no more to be found, my phone rang with a call from Missouri.  The woman on the other line was calling to enroll – with the $999 package!  The magic had happened yet again. Bonzi was qualified for PD!

So what exactly is this unseen aspect- what is going on in my business that when I declare a goal as met, and go to work as if it is already done, that it is unquestioningly accomplished?  Is it the Law of Attraction?  Am I just lucky? Only if you know that the harder you work, the luckier you get.

Its true that the wise man’s prayer is one of thanks for that is yet to come. To believe that those things not yet seen will come to be is crucial. You must believe that your goal is already met and the take the necessary action that will result in that goal becoming a reality.

The Law of Attraction requires that you not only expect it to happen – but that you work to make it so.  A vision board becomes a pipe dream if you sit on your buns in front of the TV.

In each of the examples I gave above, what you cannot know is that in my own mind & heart I held on to the belief that I would reach my goal – right up until it was accomplished. There was never a point where I let doubt creep into my mind.  Like a child who knows Santa will bring her gifts, I knew that my gifts would arrive. I knew that my prayer of thanks was already answered.  And in each of the examples given above, I WORKED right up until the last minute, talking with people, enrolling them and doing the tasks that move my business forward.

I didn’t sit and visualize ~ I worked.

Right now you may need to borrow my belief.  If you haven’t yet made the money you want to make in Network Marketing, you may not even have it in your heart to KNOW that enrollments do come – that people do duplicate – and that freedom is at hand.  You may need to borrow my belief.

You need to know in your heart of hearts that you will achieve what you set your mind to.

I’m actually building a Network Marketing Business.

That’s right. I’m not just a wanna be guru trainer type who calls herself an expert in teaching ‘attraction marketing’ who spends her day on Twitter and Facebook chattering away… talking up a storm about what Im an expert in.

Whoa – I haven’t even produced a good quirky video in awhile to tell you how super cool I am.

Intead, I’m actually building a Network Marketing business.

And its not a ‘shovels’ business either…  know what Im sayin? Shovels are smart- and I sell those too- but I’m working with a company that has products that have real value in the marketplace beyond the ‘home based business buyers’ market.

I’m (gasp) on the phone with prospects who have contacted me about my business. I’m qualifying them and helping those who I’d like to work with to make the decision to start their business with our rock-solid , yet incredibly progressive company.  I’m then doing Success Training for those folks – making sure they have the Foundation of the ViSalus Academy.  That training has a permanent place on my desktop. I’m thrilled to say that I help a new entrepreneur work their way through that training every day – sometimes more than one new entrepreneur a day.

I’m seeing the results of my work – watching the leaders emerge. Learning to recognize who the 30%ers, 60%ers and 100%ers are – and spending time with them accordingly.  I’m watching duplication happen, and finally leverage.  True residuals building.  Its quite awesome.

Sure, I still have a nice income from my automated affiliate income – the links I’ve weaved into my content over the years serve me well.  But I am very much aware that that is seed money – it isn’t the big picture. I don’t get paid residually on those sales… there are no leaders to develop that can produce millions.  I know where to FOCUS.

My psychological input – my energy – is not on the front end sale. Its shifted. I know the residual income dream is alive and well and I am grabbing ahold of that business model with both hands.

So forgive me if my online presence has a DIY appearance.  You can’t judge a book by its cover- you know what I mean?
If you want to align yourself with a ‘leader ‘who just met Mike Dillard or Ann Sieg a year or two ago and has themselves a nice shiny look – who has learned to say all the right things.  In other words – is a ‘wanna be’. Then go right ahead. I cant stop you.

Or… you can have actual faith that what I tell you is true.
I’ve been at this game since 2001.
I’m no wanna be. Don’t let my DIY appearance fool ya.

I can boil my message down to one line -
Learn internet marketing and communication /phone skills and you will be unusually successful.

You have an MLMer mentality? Then I’m not your guide. Go find an ‘Attraction  Marketing’ expert  with a pretty website… maybe they can help you with that.

So which are you? An MLMer, or a Professional Network Marketer?

Is there really a difference? Are we just trying to separate ourselves from the negative connotations of the phrase ‘Multi Level Marketing’ and all of the pain it brings to mind of the people who stepped into and out of the business model over the years?  Do we instead call ourselves “Network Marketers” and escape the skeptical eye of the ‘real’ entrepreneurs who would never do one of those ‘deals’?
I say not at all- Network Marketing as a profession has come into its own – and there are hundreds of thousands of entrepreneurs who would never work a business if it did not have the leverage that a Network Marketing business offers.  A professional Network Marketer knows that by developing leaders – they can create true walk away income.  You cannot do that with a traditional business – even if you are the ‘boss’.

So what is an MLMer?  What makes them different from a Professional Networker? And how can YOU evolve from the MLMer mentality and become the professional you must be to stop running on the hamster wheel – getting nowhere?

The MLMer has the mentality of an employee.
Wow, thats a tough one – but right on the money. Most individuals are actually employees when they begin a home based business, so of course they have the mentality of an employee! How can that be a bad thing?
The MLMer’s focus is on retirement. Its on how quickly they can sit back and do nothing. Their first question is ‘how quickly can I make $5k a month so I can quit my job’.  Now, wanting to quit your job is a natural thing… indeed, the true entrepreneur is smothered in a job and can see no other way of life than being self employed.  But if your primary goal is retirement – we have some work to do!

The Entrepreneur’s drive is to do exactly what they desire
The entrepreneur is looking for an opportunity to work so that they can do what they are driven to do – they KNOW they are meant to do bigger and better things and are looking for the way, the teacher, the opportunity to present itself as the answer to the problem they have – a job!

The MLMer is also known as a MLM ‘Junkie’.
The MLMer is always looking for the next big thing – the next super duper comp plan that is going to pay them 2000% more for doing diddly squat. They are constantly jumping from one company to the next and have ‘shiny object’ syndrome which constantly distracts them from their goals.  They rely on their emotions when making a decision. They let the over hyped launch calls, websites and and big promises of individuals guide their decision making.  The are typically in multiple deals, and in many over many years. They never learn to laser focus to make the long term residual income… because they are living week to week, or at best month to month.

Be careful – because this affliction has a cousin. It’s the elusive search for the magic ‘system’.  If you are up all night reading every so-called guru’s training on how you can make money in your sleep without ever calling your prospects… If you are spending your days in the technical side of internet Network Marketing instead of talking to humans… you are in the endless spiral of looking for the magic dust.

7-9pm is the Golden Time where you need to be talking to people.  Your online marketing should be done after hours… yah hear???

The Professional Network Marketer aligns themselves with one GREAT company and builds for LIFE
The Entrepreneur relies on discipline – and truly does their due diligence before aligning themselves with a company that they will succeed wildly in.
(There is a reason that ViSalus has more people with multiple degrees and people who earned six & seven figures in other industries before coming to build a business here.  ViSalus holds up to their keen scrutiny!)

An entrepreneur will stick with one company once the right one is identified. They will build one huge network and create as many leaders within that network as humanly possible! They will work to ‘replace themselves’ by training up people who can lead the masses…
So that they can go on to do bigger things, to give philanthropically, to travel, to inspire greatness in others.

The MLMer is always looking for an example of success outside of themselves.
They are waiting for their upline to provide the perfect training – the perfect system, the magic leads that are going to get it all done for them… or worse still- for spillover!  What the heck is spillover? It’s a lottery mentality. It’s the get as much as you can for doing nothing – it’s the employee mentality that wants to get just enough done so that they don’t get fired… but never strives for excellence.

The Entrepreneur Leads by Example.
They make a definite decision and remained committed to the tasks ahead until the goal is met.  They don’t do what they do for the money – but for the sake of creating something bigger than themselves.  They do it in service – for the greater good. They don’t make excuses for themselves, and don’t give excuses when asked why the goal wasn’t accomplished. They state the facts… not lame excuses!

Dont Worry! Your  Evolution can be swift!

I do think that most people begin a home based business with the MLMer mentality ~  But most of us will mature into the mindset of the Professional Network Marketer. Eventually it is no longer about how much money you can make ‘off of’ people, but instead its about how many people you can help to succeed in this incredible profession. Your ability to distinguish between a ‘great’ company, and a fly by night program designed to fleece people out of their hard earned seed money becomes honed.  You will avoid money games like the plague – aware of the carnage they leave behind.  Instead, you will seek to align yourself with greatness – with a rock solid company with all of the pillars in place so that when you bring a new person into the business you know with full certainty that you are doing something GOOD. You are making a change in the world.

You never know who that new entrepreneur might be- or how many lives they will impact. But you’ll know its your job to make sure they have what they need to move forward to be a professional Network Marketer.

As a pro – you will be able to see the MLMer mentality a mile away.  You will hear it in your prospects and in your new business builders.  What are you to do???
Be an example – that’s what leadership is and does.

If they are watching, they will learn. They will emulate. They will win.   And then guess what??? So will you!

So are you an MLMer or an Entrepreneur using the Network Marketing business model? If you see yourself in the MLMer mindset – your evolution can be swift. It can be NOW. You can make the decision to avoid the MLM junkie behavior. Align yourself with a great company – and then get laser focused. Do exactly what you are told without deviation. Develop your own skill set within that company and build a rock solid future for your family.

Otherwise you are always just starting over… just trying to make a buck… just trying to get by… always thinking the reasons for your failure are outside of yourself.

If your company is not the best – then make one final jump HERE.
But if you think jumping from Visalus to another shiny object is the answer… then I KNOW your thinking is faulty! Change your mindset now- or sayonara!

One last thing…

If I tell you I’m laser focused – don’t show me your MLMer qualities by trying to woo me with your super duper next big comp plan thingy… I don’t care what it pays if you are selling crap products with no real value in the marketplace, or if your company is a dinosaur when it comes to marketing.
Really, I dont care.

I’ll respect you if you tell me you are laser focused. Sincerely I will. Respect my focus as well.

I try – hard- to dissuade you from thinking that there is anything remotely magical that you could buy that would virtually ensure your success.  I work to train my team and my clients to learn real marketing methods instead of relying on the next new big launch product that is going to solve all of their online business ills.

I watch whats on offer – and am extremely selective about what I actually let you in on…

But lets get real for a moment here.

Your first step to success in Network Marketing is to be coachable and teachable. You must be willing to follow the proven system that is laid out by your company.  If others have gone before you and used a certain proven system to be successful – then by all means become an excellent mimic!  I think far to often people get involved with a company and only see the parts they want to see. They don’t hear, or choose not to hear the ‘how’ they will be actually making money.  Then when the simple system is laid out for them… they balk, stall, don’t work or change the system to ’suit them’ and find that ‘Network Marketing doesnt work”…

When I got started in this industry almost 10 years ago, there was a simple system to follow that produced results. Surprisingly, that system has not really changed much! Most Network Marketing companies have a simple process in place that new distributors can follow straight away and make money. The more contacts, the more money- right?
You are given a script to follow to take your prospect through a few simple steps:
#1 Prospect listens to a 3 minute sizzle call to qualify their interest.
#2 Give the interested prospect your website to review
#3 Prospect gets a  full business overview live on the phone/ a webinar or a recorded video
#4 Get the upline on the phone to answer questions.
#5 Collect a decision – make a sale!

This hasn’t changed much in 10 years – except that we have far more sophisticated websites/autoresponders/ways the prospect can get the overview.  And guess what? It still works! All across the nation, people are taking their prospects through that simple duplicatable system, outlined by a script… and they are making sales!

So if you are in a Network Marketing company with a simple duplicatable system like this, and you are not making sales… you must ask yourself if you are indeed teachable and coachable. Are you following the instructions given by your mentor?  If not, perhaps you need to put on your ’student of the industry’ cap and get rid of the ego thats in the way of you and your commission check!

“But I don’t want to build my business that way… I want to do it MY way…”
Is YOUR way working?
Then try doing what the millionaires in your company are doing… just try it… do it till you are good at it. See what happens.
Its got to be better than what you have going on now, right?

Follow the simple system given to you by your Network Marketing company and master the basics until you can do them without thinking – and until you are sponsoring easily. Become a recruiting machine – a master recruiter if you will. Stuff your sales funnel with qualified prospects, let the system sort them – and collect the checks at the other end.

That’s Network Marketing Success, right?  No… its not.  That’s success in Direct Sales.  You still have a ways to go to be successful.

Next, you need to teach your new people to follow the same, simple system. This is how we achieve duplication in Network Marketing.  Its how you achieve true leverage. you know, the efforts of 1% of 100 people verses 100% of your own efforts?  This is how you get those bonus overrides – the money earned when others in your business earn a check.  When you have a happy little army going out and making sales so you can earn those bonuses – THEN you have achieved success in Network Marketing …. RIGHT? WRONG!

True success in Network Marketing is when you have true residual income. You know, what they call ‘walk away’ income where your business pays you month after month whether you work it or not.  The Residual Income Dream that lures us all into this industry.  That, my friend, is the Holy Grail of MLM.  So… how can we reach this level of success?

The attainment of true residual income can only happen as you develop leaders in your organization.  The development of leadership is how you have a large, stable, growing organization without the mass attrition that is so common in Network Marketing. You must develop leadership in yourself, and then you must ‘pour into’ the people who are in your business who want to become leaders themselves.  You are already enjoying the fruits of your labor as people duplicate in your business – now  you must GIVE BACK to the people in your group.   Invest your time and energy making sure that those who are asking for your guidance get it. Make sure they are empowered by the education you give them.

When you have an organization held together with integrity and strong with true leaders  – you have achieved true success in Network Marketing.

To summarize
#1 Humble your self to be coachable and teachable and follow the simple system outlined by your company. Do not deviate or re-create the wheel…
#2 Teach those you bring on board to follow the exact same system to achieve duplication
#3 Develop leadership in yourself, and then empower leaders in your organization. Raise them up to stand on their own.
#4 With a team of leaders… you have succeeded!

Some people can do this all very quickly.  They have a ‘nothing to lose’ mentality and just go take all out massive action.  They have success right out of the gate, while others stand in awe.
Others take years to have success.  Perhaps their belief, faith or even need is not as great as the person who is on fire from the start.

Which are you?

I suggest you start right now as if this was day 1 in your journey to success in Network Marketing. Get your gift of faith out – know that if you follow the simple system that it will result in sales. Take all out massive action and make some crazy cash, and teach others to do the same.  Seek a mentor that can help you develop your leadership abilities… and claim the Residual Income Dream for yourself!

2009 is officially gone, and I could very easily simply leave it behind me. There were some major personal upheavals that happened, and in the sake of sanity… sometimes you just have to look forward, right? I mean, isn’t that what every personal development book under the sun tells you? Forgive, forget, and move on, lest your own baggage will keep you way, way down?

Sometimes, but not in the case of the story of 2009, and isn’t Melanie Milletics just incredibly LUCKY???

Ha, no way – the harder I work, the luckier I get.

First, a brief explanation of who I am, what I do, and how all the pieces of this 2009 story fit together. I’m a wife, mother, and primary bread winner in the household. Mom’s little home based business became awfully profitable after she learned a the power of List Building. I’m a Network Marketer who generates her own leads online through what people now call Web 2.0, and more recently ‘attraction marketing‘. In plain speak, I have a large subscriber base that is primarily made up of people who are either home business buyers, seekers, or simply curious. I work to entertain said subscribers by posting informative lessons on this here blog… and a good number of those people decide they like me enough to work with me in my Network Marketing company. Those that don’t may decide to buy one of the information products or services I review for them. I’m extremely careful about what I recommend to my subscribers… after all, I want them to like me and stay subscribed I only share those things I have personally used and found to be beneficial, or educational and of value. I’ve been building this list of subscribers since 2006 … and that list is literally GOLD. Its because of that list that much of what you see below was made possible.

So, without further ado, 2009 in video review.

The first video was actually taken in November of ‘08, but its very applicable to this story. See, its all about my getting the best home based business tax course in existence for FREE. Yep, my ‘lucky star’ was shining while I was cruising, and Sandy Botkins handed me Tax Strategies for Business Professionals, a course worth about a grand. I won it – and it really made a difference in how I tracked my business income and expenses in 2009. After all, I want to KEEP as much of the money I earn as possible.

I actually am pretty ‘lucky’. I just expect that great things will happen to me, and that life will be sweet. Most of the time I get what I expect. Imagine that…

In early 2009 I decided to expand ‘Me Inc’ and my online real estate. Since I had been building my own list since 2006, it made perfect sense to start MLM List Building Secrets. In the summer of 2009 Mike Dillard announced the release of the Traffic Formula 2 course, and an incredible affiliate contest.  While traveling to Los Angeles to investigate my potential new Network Marketing home, I participated in the affiliate launch and was the only woman on the top 10 leaderboard.  Ultimately, I ended up in lucky 13th place… but hey, I was traveling!

In June I officially made my move to work with ViSalus Sciences, a Network Marketing company who’s marketing system, the Vi-Net, is actually a social networking site that directly integrates with sites like Facebook and Twitter to make Social Media Marketing easy.  In July, ViSalus launched the Nationwide Body By Vi Challenge, and I launched my own 90 Day Challenge Vlog at www.my-body-by-vi.com .

I set out to transform my body – and spent the next 90 days focused on my own health.  You can see the videos I created in the archives at www.my-body-by-vi.com .

I put all of my effort and focus into building up ViSalus, and by the time the ViSalus Fusion Academy came to Tampa, I had a couple of excellent accomplishments recognized!

I had achieved the rank of Regional Director, and the BMW Bonus!

I also earned a Free Cruise for being a Top Producer in the Body By Vi Challenge.

The end of 2010 was all about helping those people I had gotten started in the fall to get up to speed and making money… after all, thats how this business model works!

2009 was pretty spectacular, considering all that I set my mind to accomplish.  The bar is now raised, and the first set goals for 2010 are already on paper.  I’ll continue to grow my list and provide valuable training to those who seek to have a profitable internet based business. I’ll continue to climb the ranks in ViSalus by training others with the methods of the Fusion Academy.   I know the goals I have written will come to pass, for I am unstoppable.

2009 is officially gone, and I could very easily simply leave it behind me. There were some major personal upheavals that happened, and in the sake of sanity… sometimes you just have to look forward, right? I mean, isn’t that what every personal development book under the sun tells you? Forgive, forget, and move on, lest your own baggage will keep you way, way down?

Sometimes, but not in the case of the story of 2009, and isn’t Melanie Milletics just incredibly LUCKY???

Ha, no way – the harder I work, the luckier I get.

First, a brief explanation of who I am, what I do, and how all the pieces of this 2009 story fit together. I’m a wife, mother, and primary bread winner in the household. Mom’s little home based business became awfully profitable after she learned a the power of List Building. I’m a Network Marketer who generates her own leads online through what people now call Web 2.0, and more recently ‘attraction marketing‘. In plain speak, I have a large subscriber base that is primarily made up of people who are either home business buyers, seekers, or simply curious. I work to entertain said subscribers by posting informative lessons on this here blog… and a good number of those people decide they like me enough to work with me in my Network Marketing company. Those that don’t may decide to buy one of the information products or services I review for them. I’m extremely careful about what I recommend to my subscribers… after all, I want them to like me and stay subscribed I only share those things I have personally used and found to be beneficial, or educational and of value. I’ve been building this list of subscribers since 2006 … and that list is literally GOLD. Its because of that list that much of what you see below was made possible.

So, without further ado, 2009 in video review.

The first video was actually taken in November of ‘08, but its very applicable to this story. See, its all about my getting the best home based business tax course in existence for FREE. Yep, my ‘lucky star’ was shining while I was cruising, and Sandy Botkins handed me Tax Strategies for Business Professionals, a course worth about a grand. I won it – and it really made a difference in how I tracked my business income and expenses in 2009. After all, I want to KEEP as much of the money I earn as possible.

I actually am pretty ‘lucky’. I just expect that great things will happen to me, and that life will be sweet. Most of the time I get what I expect. Imagine that…

In early 2009 I decided to expand ‘Me Inc’ and my online real estate. Since I had been building my own list since 2006, it made perfect sense to start MLM List Building Secrets. I also started to provide training webinars for my subscribers to teach them the methods I had used to become the top enroller in my company using 100% online marketing methods.

In the spring of 2009 the Renegade Network Marketer, Ann Sieg, announced the merging of the Renegade System with with Mike Klinglers Marketing Merge. She asked me to be a coach for the system and to provide exclusive training on my expertise, MLM list building. They ran a affiliate promotion to enroll Renegade Professional students, and I was the #1 affiliate for leads generated, and in the top 3 for sales.

As the Renegade Professional and the launch of Mike Dillard’s Better Networker increased the number of Network Marketers who were attempting to build their business online, it became clear to me that there was alot of confusion about ‘best practices’. Since I had been studying top internet marketers since 2001, I had a very clear idea of how to best set up a home based business online. My mentor tells me that sometimes the truth is better than a lie, even if it hurts you to tell it! She has been networking for 15 years and has built 3 businesses to multiple 6 figures, so I think she knows a bit about the world we live in. The truth is better than a lie- and although I have not blatantly lied – by omission of my actual story of persistence in this industry, I have denied many the INSPIRATION that my story could provide. This is the story of my MLM journey, and I do hope that you’ll stick with me to the end…

It all began about 8 years ago with the ‘magic juice’ my chiropractor gave me. Now, the name of such juice is irrelevant. You know the stuff. It costs a bundle and cures all ills. In fact, it will even bring you eternal happiness if you share the wonders of the juice with enough people – the company will cut you a nice big check. I looked at the brochures of how you get paid to share and went to work – as we certainly needed the $$$! I was home raising my daughter while my husband worked a stressful job that was literally draining the life out of him! That magic juice company went out of business – but that was of no consequence because I’d already started surfin the web to find my million dollar business. I had another magic juice, some fun green fairy dust and even some air purifiers and water purifiers to boot. I was trying to sell everything, in any way I could. And I did – some of it. I learned early on that I was a success- the voice of God spoke loudly that I could do ANYTHING and I listened…and maxed out my cards (I’m sure that was not what God meant!). I began to seek out the people who had their smiling faces on the net claiming their gazillions in network marketing. I would ask them really dumb questions and as such, they had no answers. They would all tell me to join their deal- but that wasn’t the answer I was looking for.

You see, I could use a script, website, sizzle call and lead list and I could sponsor. Oh yes- I had no fear. But I KNEW, just KNEW that the big dogs weren’t paying for leads. They were generating their own. But they wouldnt tell me how…

I knew there was nothing different between me and them, except that they were doing something I did not yet know how to do- and I was determined to figure out how it was done. The net was a different place then – this information wasn’t free!

I went to work with a very well known company and made every promotion that put in front of me. I got every pin, watch, blanket, track suit – whatever they put out. I got all that STUFF, but really very little money. The residual income dream seamed to belong to others- I couldn’t crack the code. I didn’t know it was because I was working with a totally crappy comp plan… that knowledge would come later.

In June 2005 my husband was laid off from the job that was killing him. I did a happy dance and told him – YEAH! Now I can focus on my MLM and we can get RICH! Meanwhile, he was crying to my Mother that I was crazy to think we can live on Love (we can, cant we?). That very same month Mike Dillard’s Magnetic Sponsoring landed in my lap. Lightning struck, the stars aligned and my destiny unfolded. (Yes, it was that big a deal!)

I had learned a bit along the way about what the big dogs were doing. I was generating my own leads and doing pretty well navigating the net and thought myself quite accomplished. When I got Mag Spon, it wasn’t that the info was all totally new- but rather that it brought everything together for me. I used the Magnetic Sponsoring affiliate program to keep us afloat – while I went to work as a TEACHER!

I was working as a sub in the Philadelphia school district and coming home in the evenings to generate an extra hundred or two a day with Mike’s program. I stopped working the MLM with the crappy comp plan and just focused on the “now money” and on honing my lead generation skills. I connected with thousands of networkers and began to build my database (LIST). I called many networkers while I sat in the passenger’s seat of our Suburu wagon – making the bold move to Florida where I would work to get my teachers certification. That fall I taught myself html so that I could build my own capture pages. It was only another few steps to build www.SponsoringSuccess.com , link it to an autoresponder and mail out to the leads I’d generated from Magnetic, as well as the new subscribers I would begin to attract.

Folks, I branded myself, built my website, managed the newsletter and then made HUGE MONEY in direct sales – while working 40 hours per week as a high school science teacher! I also have 2 small children. I am indeed superwoman – because my WHY is huge.

Wait – did I say huge money in direct sales?- I did. I began to apply my skills to market direct sales and was making truly crazy money- it blew my head up so big I didn’t even THINK about the teachers certification. I was certain that after the second year I would never return. Why on earth would I??? I was making big bucks and the future was so bright, I didn’t see what was coming.

A little over a year ago the big one hit us. I will not go into it here, but know that our family was hit so hard that Momma was no longer able to work direct sales. When you don’t sell, you don’t earn- and my income dropped to well below the level of sustainability. For almost 6 months I was not operating at full capacity and really just kind of tread water with my business. The old FEAR had come back – fear that I was really incapable of living the dream. I did what I felt was SAFE, and I went back to work – and to get that teaching certification.

I know that we are truly blessed. I am so very thankful to an industry that has taught me that you must change your mind in order to change your bank account. Everything has fallen into place for us, in such fantastic ways. Please allow me to explain.

In January of 2007 a networker named Tim called me out of the blue. He said he was on my newsletter list and knew I was marketing “big ticket”, “top tier” companies. He asked me what I was doing with the people who couldn’t afford them the high ticket opportunities, and I had no answer. Now, I normally don’t listen to pitches about anything- but something told me to Google this guy. I also asked him why the heck I should even listen to him… and he told me what he’d done in the past. Impressed enough by what he said, and certain that I could get double mileage out of my leads with this little MLM deal… I joined joined and got to work. I funneled my leads who couldn’t afford my other programs right in, and had a decent little team – but I still had no faith in that MLM model that I was sure would pay me peanuts…

Remember the calls I was making to the Magnetic Sponsoring leads in the car on the way to Florida? One of them led to a truly life changing event. On that ride I spoke with a woman named Holly Powell, and in July of 07 she joined me in my MLM company (that is a lesson on the power of the LIST too, people join you YEARS later). Within a month she was a “Regional Executive” and I suddenly got a residual check for over $500. Now, remember, I was just barely working- barely thinking, barely treading water- and I get this check for over $500 from the little MLM deal.

WAKE UP CALL!

Wait, there is real residual income here? Is it possible that if I went to work here I might actually live the residual income dream I’d been sold all those years ago? Possible? Absolutely!

In August I went back to teaching high school science… and worked my MLM part time. In October the company integrated a marketing platform, and things really took off. I mailed my database (my LIST) and was enrolling at least 25 people each and every month. I hit “National Executive” and watched my residual checks grow and considered leaving teaching In January. However, I had not yet finished my certification and felt the need to finish what I started. I worked up till June 2008 as a High School Science teacher and built my residual income up with my MLM. I got my certification, graduated the Seniors – and resigned.

I’m free.
I’m home with my family…

Oh, did I ever mention that my husband hadn’t worked since being laid off in 2005? Supermom worked all day and networked all night and Dad stayed home with the kids!

What are You capable of?

• Will your success path be shorter than mine – I hope so!

Remember the database that I began to build in 2005? My LIST. It was that list that enabled me to build a network marketing company virtually at the push of a button, and in my SPARE time.

I was not tied to the phone.
I was not prospecting like mad.

But I Was…
